The mystery surrounding the April 14 bomb blast in Nyanya, Abuja is slowly being unravelled after the arrest of the alleged mastermind, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche.

Most Nigerians who still had the belief that Boko Haram consisted of only illiterate Northerners received a shock when they realized that a well educated young man was connected to the insurgency.

The suspect is now in the spotlight as investigations are ongoing and we bring you 10 things you should know about him.

1, He was born in the United Kingdom

2, He is 29 years old

3, He nicknamed himself “The Lion of God”.

4, He is from Orokam in the Ogbadibo Local Government area of Benue State

5, He served with the Nigerian army as a lance corporal with Service No. SVC 95/ 104 from 2001 to 2006 after which he deserted.

6, He studied Arabic Language at the International University of Africa, Sudan.

7, He attended the University of Glamorgan in Wales to study Business Science in 2007 but dropped out in 2010.

8, He reportedly developed extremist views and was radicalised while in Wales.

9, He was arrested on November 12, 2011 in connection with terrorism but was bailed out by his father, Agene Ogwuche, a retired army colonel.

10, He was arrested this week in Sudan while allegedly making attempts to escape to Egypt. His father has also been detained.
