A member of terrorist sect, Boko Haram granted an interview to CBS news where he revealed some of the group’s future plans.

The sect has accepted responsibility for the kidnapping of over 200 schoolgirls from Chibok in Borno.

The interview took place in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and was conducted by CBS news contributor, Debora Patta.

Here are 10 things that we learnt and that you should know from this interview:

1, Boko Haram members move freely around the country and are integrated into every level of society.

2, The Boko Haram member who was interviewed identified himself as Saleh Abubakar.

3, The abduction of the over 200 girls from Chibok in Borno took the sect 3 months to plan.

4, Abubakar claimed to have seen the abducted girls 3 weeks ago and he said that they were doing fine.

5, He denied reports that some of the girls were sick and said that the rumours were false.

6, Abubakar said nothing would happen to the girls as long as the government agreed to release detained Boko Haram fighters.

7, He refused to confirm whether the girls had been moved across the border but he said that they would no longer be sold because they had all willingly converted to Islam.

8, He refused to comment on whether the group was being sponsored by al Qaeda but he said that they are his brothers in Islam.

9, Saleh said that Boko Haram had plans to abduct more girls.

10, He said that it is acceptable to fire upon “the enemies among the children”. It is not clear what he meant by this.

The abducted girls today marked their 36th day in captivity as concerned people all around the world continue to ask the government to #BringBackOurGirls.
