TICKER: 13 die in car crash in Edo, caused by ‘one-way’ driving

At least 13 people have been confirmed dead, and three others injured, following an auto accident that happened on the Lagos-Benin Expressway.

The crash, which occurred around 7:45am on Sunday at Ohosu, in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, involved an Anambra Mass Transit bus and an Inveko Trust Hiace truck.

The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kenneth Nwaegbe, disclosed that the Anambra Mass Transit bus was driving against traffic when it crashed into the Lagos-bound truck.

Nwaegbe said there were three survivors from the accident, all male, who had been admitted at an undisclosed hospital.

He added that investigation into the accident was still ongoing to identify the dead, contact their kin and the kin of the survivors.
