It is no longer news that former Attorney General of Lagos State, Yemi Osinbajo has been announced as the running mate of The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 elections.

We however bring you facts that you probably did not know about him:

1. He is related to the late Obafemi Awolowo: Prof. Osinbajo is happily married to Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo – a granddaughter of late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Dolapo is the daughter of late Otunba Ayodele Soyode, one of the children of late Awolowo. They have three children.
2. He is a pastor at the Olive Tree parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
3. He is not just a lawyer but a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
4. He is an alumnus of the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics.
5. He is a professor of law and was the head of department of Public Law at the University of Lagos from 1997-1999.
6. He is a Senior Partner at Simmons Cooper Partners.
7. He was a Special Adviser to the Attorney General of Nigeria from 1988-1992.
8. He became the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State in 1999 and was reappointed in 2003.
9. He is a co-founder & Board Member of the Convention on Business Integrity and the Justice Research Institute Ltd.
10. He is a prodigious author who has to his credit several books on civil procedure in Nigerian superior courts. He has authored and co-authored several books and publications.
11. He once served as a staff member of the United Nations and Member of the United Nation’s Secretary General’s Committee of Experts on Conduct and Discipline of UN Peacekeeping personnel around the globe.
12. He is currently an Ethics Advisor to the Ethics Committee of the African Development Bank and is a non-executive Director of Citibank.
