10 songs we want 2Baba to perform at #BuckwyldnBreathless and why

#BuckwyldnBreathless

If there is anybody that deserves respect for his work in the Nigeria music industry, it is surely 2face who now officially goes by the stage name 2Baba.

From Face to Face to The Ascension, he has built himself a successful music career that is enviable and motivating for generations to come.

As he takes to the stage tonight at the #BuckwyldnBreathless concert – which also features M.I, here are 10 songs from his wide collection of hits, we want him to perform.

  1. Nfana Ibaga: Oh how we miss the classic 2face.

Nfana Ibaga was one of those groovy tracks which ruled the airwaves.  The song was so good that it later got an international remix featuring Jamaica’s Beenie Man and Ghana’s Reggie Rockstone.

It would be great if 2Baba considers this song on his set list; at least show this new school hip-hop heads, he’s been spitting lyrics way before them.

2. Ole (Thief) featuring Freestyle:

2Baba indeed stole a lot of hearts with this song. For a love song, the vibe was dynamic and unique at the same time. Freestyle also contributed his quota to the commercial success of the song.

Like Nfana Ibaga, this was also off his debut album Face 2 Face.

3. Right Here: If you were 2face’s boo, you would like to break up with him just to let him sing you this song to make up with you. Right here possessed an infectious sound that just won him more female fans.

It’d be nice to remind those fans that he still got it.

4. Keep On Rockin feat. Natives & Lil Seal – In the early 2000’s this song was on replay at the coolest shindigs. Back then, Keep On Rockin was the party starter.

We expect this song to come early during 2Baba’s set tonight in order to pump up the  crowd.

5. For Instance: For Instance is a single off 2Baba’s second solo project – Grass 2 Grace. Word has it that the album sold over a million copies in it’s first week of release. Going by this, For Instance was probably instrumental in those outstanding figures because the song was well received across all boarders.

The song positioned 2Baba as a voice for the masses as he was able to make music and activism go hand in hand without showcasing any violence.

6. My Love featuring VIP

This collaboration with Ghana’s VIP is another song that will take the crowd down memory lane.

7. True Love: Another classic 2face song!

2Baba was such a dominating force in the industry and songs like True Love from his Grass 2 Grace album contributed to this.

Performing this song will remind people how much 2Baba contributed to the growth of R’n’B in the country.

8. Enter The Place featuring Sound Sultan: Off his 3rd album Unstoppable, 2Baba made a massive entry into the clubs with this hot number.

Enter The Place shot him up to the tops of the charts once again two years after the release of the highly successful Grass 2 Grace.

9. Implication: Considering the fact that Unstoppable was not well received because it sounded so western, 2Baba had to release a mega hit that would assure fans that he wasn’t slipping into oblivion like some of his other colleagues.

Coupled with realization of the effect Enter The Place had, 2Baba delivered another banger in Implication. It indeed controlled the party scene in 2010.

It would make complete sense to try the trick again tonight.

10. Street Credibility featuring 9ice: We know this is not a 2Baba song but there is no way a 2Baba performance can be complete without the crowd going home with this huge collaboration with the Alapomeji master.

He and 9ice made headlines in May after stealing the show with the performance of this song at Kiss Daniel’s concert.

It’s be exciting to see the pair rock the stage once more with this fantastic collaboration.
