After the unfortunate incident on Monday in which 10 people were killed at a drinking joint in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, another 3 people have been reportedly murdered by unknown assailants.

Three of them were reported to be on the way to their respective farms when they were ambushed and killed.

One farmer, identified as Monday Davou, was killed at Rantwol-Sopp in Riyom council, while the other two were killed in Sho Village while on a motorcycle.

Emmanuel Loman, the chairman of Barkin Ladi LGA confirmed the killing attributing it to the criminal operation of suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Several people at Sho Village were reported to have mobilized to attack the assailants but found out they had escaped before anything could be done.

Meanwhile, the Plateau State Police Command has restricted the operation of drinking joints in the state to stem the spate of killings at such joints.

They are now to close by 7pm daily until further notice, while those in Barkin-Ladi and Riyom are to close by 6pm.

The state police public relations officer, DSP Abuh Emmanuel , said the measure was taken to stop the spate of attacks recently witnessed in such gathering.

He urged the public to go about their normal lawful duties, assuring them of the commitment of the police to ensure their safety.
