Abductors of 3 Seminary School girls reduce ransom

The gunmen who kidnapped 3 schoolgirls from Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School, in Ikorodu, Lagos, have reportedly reduced the initial ransom payment demanded for their release.

The girls- Timilehin Olosa, Tofunmi Popoolaniyan and Deborah Akinayo- were abducted by a group of armed hoodlums on Monday, February 29.

After making an initial ransom demand of N200 million, the kidnappers reduced it to N60 million on Wednesday, March 2.

According to The Nation, the criminals made another contact at about 2:00am on Thursday to one of the victims’ parents demanding for N10 million as ransom.

The school management was said to have pleaded with the kidnappers to accept N1 million as ransom payment for the three girls but they insisted on N10 million.

Negotiations are said to be ongoing and the girls are believed to be in good conditions.
