4 policemen under investigation over kidnap of Jonathan’s uncle

The policemen who were stationed to guard the house of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s uncle have been arrested by the police.

Chief Inegite was kidnapped for the second time on Sunday, February 17, 2016, after he was earlier kidnapped on February 28 from his house and later freed by security agents on March 10 in 2014.

The Bayelsa State Police Command revealed that four policemen are under investigation in respect to the kidnap.

Asinim Butswat, spokesperson for the police in Bayelsa state revealed that the police had initiated a search for the kidnappers.

A member of the family however told NAN that the policemen stationed to guard Inegite’s residence  were away from their duty posts when the kidnap occurred.

He pointed out that if the policemen had remained on ground, the kidnappers would have met resistance and not have easily kidnapped the ex-president’s uncle.
