Senate to revoke land allocated to Jonathan, others

The senate committee on The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Friday, threatened to revoke the plots of land allocated to former President Goodluck Jonathana and 29 other persons.

This position was made by the committee chairman, Sen. Dino Malaye, during the defence of the 2016 budget by the FCT minister, Muhammed Bello.

Others allocated land in the area are: former Justice Minister and Attorney-General of the Federation, Muhammed Bello Adoke;‎ Former Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda; Acting National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus; and the late National Security Adviser, Andrew Okoye Azazi, among others

The lands, according to the chairman, was in an area designated for building structures for foreign visitors and tourist. saying, also, that the committee has ordered the stoppage of works in all buildings within the area.

Melaye also revealed that his committee made an oversight visitation to the said area, as part of their duty, when they discovered the construction going on in the area. This, he said, resulted in them summoning the FCT minister.
