Prominent Nigerian designer, Lanre Da-Silva Ajayi is Editor-at-Large of TheOtherStyle.com

Nigerian fashion powerhouse and founder of the eponymous design label, Lanre Da-Silva Ajayi (LDA) has recently been announced as Editor-at-Large of new fashion site, TheOtherStyle.com.

LDA brings a wealth of experience gathered from 11 years of translating passion for fashion into the creation of an acclaimed brand, which has become a favourite among the media, celebrities and trendsetters.

“TheOtherStyle is an African digital space with a single focus – perspective,” Ajayi said. “We want to explore Africa’s extensive fashion, its differing beauty ideals and its ever evolving style preferences through the perspectives of its designers, stylists, makeup artists, illustrators, models, artisans, influencers and insiders.”

As a symbol of the success and endless possibilities of the fashion eco-system across the continent, Ajayi brings her formidable experience, networks and passions to shape, guide and mirror the vision, values and approaches of TheOtherStyle brand.

“We are delighted to have Mrs Da-Silva Ajayi as the Editor-at-Large of TheOtherStyle.com,” says Kingsley Ezeani, who is founder of Redux. “As one of the pioneers of modern Nigerian fashion, and one of the Nigerian brands truly exciting the world, she is in a prime position to guide a platform that will deliver insights and lead fashion lovers into the new age of African fashion.”

As one of her first activities, Ajayi will be convening a televised conversation on the sidelines of Social Media Week Lagos. Tagged, ‘Let’s get real’, the event will interrogate how the integration of technology and social media into fashion has changed the pattern of consumption and retail. This event will feature a panel of contributors made up of fashion and beauty experts from around the country.
