PODCAST: Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade is convinced your business needs Google

Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade giving us a debrief and tutelage on the usage of the Google apps

“Technology should make life easy,” says Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, the Communication and Public Affairs Manager for Google, West Africa.

For the second edition of our TECHnically podcast, we met with Taiwo to discuss how small businesses and startups in Nigeria can use technology -specifically, Google tools – to market their products and grow.

Taiwo says that Google understands what it means to be a small business. Google itself was once a startup, it’s co-founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, worked out of a garage.

“Google has a startup culture. We started as a small business,” Taiwo says.

There are lot of ways that small businesses can create opportunities for itself online. “A lot of Google’s products are for small businesses,” Taiwo says as he explained just how startups can take advantage of Google tools.

“You don’t need to be very rich to use Adwords,” he added.

Taiwo also spoke on how the search engine giant is making inroads into Nigeria. He speaks proudly of Google’s plan to train over 400,000 young people and the collaboration between Google, Nigerian universities and startups.
