5 things you need to know about Le Guen, Super Eagles technical adviser

The Nigeria Football Federation on Monday confirmed the appointment of Frenchman Paul Le Guen as the new technical adviser of the Senior national team, the Super Eagles.

Here are some things you need to know about him.

1. He was a former French defender who played for the Les Blues 17 times scoring once.

2. He has coached four different clubs (Rennes, Lyon, Paris Saint Germain and Rangers) in two countries (France and Scotland).

3. He is a winner. During his time as manager of Olympique Lyon he won the French Ligue 1 for three consecutive seasons (2002-03, 2003-04 and 2004-05). He also lifted the Champions trophy for three years consecutively (2002, 2003 and 2004). During his brief stint as coach of PSG, he led them to Coupe de la Ligue triumph in 2008.

4) He has been to the World Cup as a coach. He led the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

5) As at November 17, 2015 he had managed 519 games, winning 245 with a winning ratio of 47.2%.
