58 killed, 78 injured in Tuesday’s attack of IDP camp in Borno

Two female suicide bombers on Tuesday, penetrated an Internally Displaced Persons camp in Dikwa, Borno, attacking and killing 58 persons and leaving 78 injured.

The attack occurred when the IDPs queued up to collect their morning food in the camp which accommodates over 50, 000 people displaced by the Boko Haram terrorism.

The Zonal Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency in North East, Mohammed Kanar confirmed that some of the dead have been buried while the injured have been moved to medical facilities for adequate treatments.

“As I am speaking to you I am at the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri where those injured in the suicide bomb attack by two female were brought for treatment.

“It was really sad; the injured were brought in today (Wednesday) because of the distance of Dikwa from here?” he said.
