In a N486, 000 theft crime that happened earlier this year, Arinze Ernest, 67, was arraigned before Chief Magistrate’s Court, Yaba, Lagos.

He was accused of stealing the money from a security outfit at Yaba called Proton Security Service.

According to reports, the police said Ernest committed the crime on February 11 at the Lagos office and the charge sheet read:

“That you, Arinze Ernest, male, on February 11, 2013 at about 1210 hours at No 9, Jibowu Street, Yaba in the Yaba Magisterial District did steal the sum of four hundred and eighty six thousand naira, (N486,000.00) belonging to Proton Security Service Section Yaba Lagos and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011”

Ernest had pleaded  not guilty and was granted his bail on liberal terms upon the payment of N50,000.

The magistrate, Folarin Williams accepted adjourned the case till May 21.
