700 sacked La Casera workers get their jobs back

The La Casera company has reinstated the 700 workers it sacked in September.

1,300 workers, (700 staff members and 600 casual workers) had their jobs terminated on September 14.

However, the National Union of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Employees (NUFBTE) on Friday, October 9, confirmed their recall.

The head of Education Department of NUFBTE, Mike Olarenwaju said the management of the company and the union members met over the dispute and subsequently called the workers to resume.

He added that officials of the union would meet with the workers next week to finalise issues with the in-house union.
