One of Nigeria’s most recognised entertainment industry awards, The Headies (formerly known as the HipHopWorld Awards) has launched its 2012 award season as it invites nominations in various categories.

According to the C.E.O of Smooth Operations, organizers of The Headies, Ayo Animashaun, artistes and labels who want to be considered for nomination must submit three audio CDs, four DVDs, a mini DV tape, soft copies of artistes’ profile and a portrait picture to the award’s secretariat.

Submission of entries begins today, Monday, June 4 and ends on Saturday, June 30. Animashaun says complete entry materials should be sent to the Headies Secretariat at 4, Ogundana Street, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.

Only music content released between March 2011 to February 2012 are eligible for entry.

Last year’s awards ceremony took place on October 22, 2012 at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island with African pop icon 2face Idibia emerging as the biggest winner of the night, carting away three awards.
