The governorship election of Abia state has been declared inconclusive.

The INEC Returning Officer for the state, Prof Benjamin Ozumba, made the declaration saying that the polls was inconclusive.

Ozumba made the pronouncement on Monday evening, in Umuahia.

The INEC Returning Officer said the decision was taken because the total number of registered voters in areas, where elections did not hold or where elections were cancelled, was higher than the margin of difference between the two leading candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressive GrandAlliance.
