Abiola’s family rejects Nigeria’s Centenary award
The posthumous Centenary award to the winner of the 1993 Nigeria’s presidential election has been rejected by the family of the late M.K.O Abiola.
Speaking to newsmen, the eldest son of the late politician and businessman,Kola Abiola said the award was “not appropriate.”
Sanusi’s suit for hearing March 21
The hearing of the motion on notice filed by the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Lamido Sanusi, before a Federal High Court, Lagos, has been fixed for March 21.
Sanusi’s lawyer, Yemi Osibajo (SAN),approached the Justice Ibrahim Buba presided court, seeking an enforcement of his fundamental rights. Read more….
NLC president advocates new approach to fight insurgency
The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Abdulwaheed Omar has called for a new strategy to fight the Boko Haram insurgency in parts of the North.

Boko Haram: Gov Nyako escapes attack
Adamawa state governor, Murtala Nyako on Friday escaped death by the whiskers when he was attacked by gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect at Shuwa, Madagali local government area of the state.
Madagali has witnessed series of terrorists attacks recently and the governor had gone to the area to commiserate with the people when unknown gunmen fired gunshots into the air as the governor was addressing the people. Read more….
FG distributes cancer test kits in Owerri
Nigerian Women and young girls have been advised to take advantage of the free cancer screening in some designated health establishments in the various geo-political zones of the country to check the spread of the disease.
