Nyanya explosion

Investigations have begun into the bombing of the Nyanya bus park in the Federal Capital Territory which incident claimed many lives.

According to reports, an eyewitness has claimed that the dastardly attack was carried out by 2 men dressed in military uniforms.

This was disclosed by one Salisu Mukhtar, Head of Operations of Isiyaka Nagode Enterprises, on Thursday.

Nigerian Eye reports:

He stated, “Somebody that slept there told us he was there when two men in Army uniforms entered and parked a car there.

“Two of them came in two cars. They parked the car and left in the other car around 2am. The person that saw them could not challenge them because they were in military uniform. They left in the second car.

“When he woke up around 5am, he still found the car there. Because he was disturbed, he sent one of his boys to our office but we had not come by then. The bomb exploded when the boy he sent was returning and he died in the bomb blast.”

According to him, the FCT police command has begun investigation into the incident, adding that they (the management of the park) did not witness the bomb blast.

However, when the Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen Laleye Olajide was contacted, he described the claims as an attempt to destroy the image of the Nigerian Army.

He said:

“Why did they not say so in the beginning when the explosion occurred if it was true?

“Why did they not say it at the time. This thing happened how many days ago, it happened since Monday and I have not read it anywhere. People said they even recovered the bodies of the bombers, they did not say the bodies were recovered with military uniform.

“Why are people just out to destroy the image of the Army? This is falsehood, it is not true. It is just another attempt to destroy the image of the Army.”

  1. I don't think the eye witness was aim to tarnish the image of the army.Army uniforms are worn everywhere now by people who are not military personnel. Boko Haram could now have the uniform in large quantity.lnvestigation needs to be carried out how civilians have access to the uniform.

  2. dont mind the idiots they are always in surport of boko haram instead of looking for possible ways of curbing the menace that is facing us they go about famenting lies and criticizing the govt. why didnt he alert others at his colleagues in de park that some people has parked a strange vehicle. since have the nigerian military began to go about in golf? stupid man and boko haram advocate.

  3. Nigerians let us not destroy the last cord that bind us together as a nation, Nigerian soilder are made up of every tribe, ethnic, and religon I think they trying their best if the millitary is dragged into this deadly politics then Nigeria is finished we all may know the begining we may never know the end of it, God save this our dear Nation .

  4. Oga Army PRO, stop blaming people and look into your. Formation if there have truly been some infilteration. There has been a lot of claims about how the Nigerian Army has been corrupted lately. Try and do some work to fish out these bad eggs God helping you.
