We have nothing to do with Lamido’s ordeal – APC

The All Progressives Congress in Jigawa state has denied the allegations that the state government orchestrated the arrest of former Governor Sule Lamido and his sons by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Jigawa state chairman of  the APC, Ado Sani Kiri described the insinuations as callous and unfounded, adding that the party had not filed any petition against Lamido.

He said this on Tuesday, July 21, while speaking with journalists in Babura, Jigawa.

Kiri explained that Lamido’s troubles started in 2012 when he spearheaded the move to form new PDP and betrayed former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Ever since then, he says the PDP-led Federal government began witchhunting him to the extent that two of his sons were arrested and charged with money laundering by a Federal High Court sitting in Kano, and his first son, Aminu Sule Lamido, was convicted.

‘’To say APC has hands in the arrest of Alhaji Lamido by some disgruntled elements is mere daydreaming. What connects APC with that case?”, Kiri asked.
