Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation from being the head of the Catholic church was an announcement that most people of the world did not see coming. This is the first time that a Pope has ever stepped down from the position in the 660 years since it was conceived. The Vatican is in a frenzy trying to find out who will replace Benedict.

Recently, there have been a plethora of posters appearing around Rome in support of bidding Cardinal Turkson of Ghana to be made the new Pope; however, campaigning and promoting oneself for the position of the Pope is shunned. Fortunately though, many believe that Turkson is not responsible for the posters. Authorities are working tirelessly to determine where the posters originated.

George Weigel, an NBC Vatican expert, defended Turkson, saying “You can be absolutely sure that poor Cardinal Turkson, a true innocent, had nothing to do with this”. So was this some type of sabotage against Turkson or someone actually trying to get him some more exposure and make him a more competitive candidate?
