Designer Akpos Okudu has just released the lookbook for her Spring/Summer 2011 collection. “The Cocktail Hour” is a colourful collection, and we love the ‘wearability’ of her pieces.

“With this collection, I’ve definitely grown as designer and business woman.  I have a keen sense of who the Akpos Okudu woman is and what she is about. We’re really not about avant-garde pieces – it’s more about clothes women love to wear, want to wear and can wear,” Ms Okudu says.

The collection was inspired by her environment, and has a mixture of vibrant hues and textures. Each piece was designed uniquely for women who love to show their girly side, achieved with prints, huge bows, colour blocking, pleats, cut-outs and floral patterns. Our favourite is the Ms Sylva dress – the colors are easy on the eyes and we love the back details with sharp cuts.
