All Progressives Congress’ Senators of the North-East Caucus, have nominated Ali Ndume as the Majority Leader of the Senate.

The nomination goes against the instruction of the party leadership, who were backing Senator Ahmed Lawan.

Bala Ibn Na’alla was nominated as deputy leader, also against the party’s wishes, with the anointed candidate being George Akume.
