#Aluu4: Lest we forget – Brutal killing of 4 UNIPORT students clock a year today

by ‘Jola Sotubo

Llyod Michael aka Big L (19) – Civil Engineering – Year 2; Ugonna Ibuzor – Geology – Year 2

Tekena Elkanah – Computer Science (19) – Year 2;  Chidiaka Biringa – Theatre Arts – Year 2

It’s been one year since the lives of four promising young men were snuffed out in circumstances undeserving even for animals.

Llyod Michael aka Big L (19) , Ugonna Ibuzor, Tekena Elkanah (19)  and Chidiaka Biringa, students of the University of Port Harcourt were brutally murdered on the 5th of October 2012 in Aluu community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The four boys were beaten to a pulp and then set ablaze by some villagers over allegations of theft in an incident that was filmed and caused widespread outrage over the largely unchecked trend of jungle justice in Nigeria.

The case against the suspected perpetrators of this dastardly act is ongoing and we hope that one day justice will be served.
