Chidi Amaechi, a younger brother of Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, was attacked on Wednesday, March 10.
The younger Amaechi was “inflicted with life threatening cuts and injuries” when he was attacked in his hostel in Igbinedion University, Edo state.
A statement released by David Iyofor, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Amaechi, confirmed the incident.
It said: “The younger Amaechi who is a student of Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, was viciously attacked by assailants in his accommodation in the school allegedly with machetes and inflicted with life threatening cuts and injuries.”
“At present, doctors say his condition is critical. We must note that the assailants did not remove or steal anything from Chidi Adi’s room,” the statement added
