Ambode’s convoy stops robbery attack on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

An armed robbery operation was stopped in its tracks on Thursday by the convoy of the Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi AmbodeThe Vanguard reports.

The armed robbers dressed in Police uniform were at the popular Long Bridge on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at about 8pm before they met their Waterloo.

According to an eyewitness the bandits had created a barricade on the expressway forcing motorists to a halt in an attempt to carry out their act.

However, the convoy of the state governor which was close to the scene at that moment, engaged the robbers in a fire fight, eventually clearing the expressway.

A source at the governor’s office, who confirmed the incident said the convoy was returning from Osun state where Ambode had attended the President’s visit.
