Ambode puts an end to ‘environmental sanitation’ in Lagos

#30Days30Voices

The Ambode led administration has cancelled the compulsory environmental sanitation of the last Saturday of every month held between the hours of 7am to 10am in Lagos

The Commissioner for Environment, Babatunde Adejare in the state made this known at the ministry’s monthly media chat in Lagos on Thursday.

Adejare said the exercise was scrapped due to the adverse economic consequences on the state.

He also added that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode found it detrimental to the state to shut down the mega city for 3 hours.

He then remarked that the environmental sanitation should be done daily rather than fixed for a specific day, once a month.
