Kimberley Walsh was always seen as the modest, girl next door type member of Girls Aloud.

But she seems to be embracing a change of image since launching her solo career.

The 31-year old took to the stage at GAY wearing a red dress that left nothing to the imagination.

Kimberley went bra-less in the sequined gown, which was cut to the navel, and also showed off her knickers.

After a disastrous performances at the recent National Television Awards, she might have wanted to make sure that all eyes were firmly on her as she performed at the popular London club night.

While the dress might not be to everyone’s taste, it’s hard to deny that Kimberley managed to pull it off.

She has just finished a stint competing on Strictly Come Dancing, where she came second, and is also preparing for Girls Aloud’s forthcoming farewell tour.

The constant cycle of rehearsals and dance routines mean that the pretty Nottingham lass is in the best shape of her life, and she was clearly happy to show off the results of her hard work.

The Girls Aloud singer sang five songs from her new album, Centre Stage, which is released on Monday.

One of the songs on the LP, Randy Crawford’s One Day I’ll Fly Away, is the track she performed at the NTA’s to a widespread slating.

Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Kimberly is releasing the classic, which also appeared on hit film Moulin Rouge, on February 4 and reception to her cover of the romantic song had initially been good.

Supporting her from the sidelines was Nicola Roberts, who tweeted her delight at watching her friend sing.

After Kimberly was finished singing, she was joined by Nicola, family members and her backing dancers for a small party in her dressing room.

Nicola also opted to wear red for her trip to the weekly club night, but hers made sure her chest and underwear were firmly under wraps.

However, she did forgo a coat and tights, so was probably quite cold as she made her way to and from Heaven, where GAY takes place.
