Another attack: Gunmen kill 3 policemen in Bauchi [DETAILS]

Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed three policemen at a check point around Tilden Fulani village in Toro local government area of Bauchi State.

According to security officials of the local government, the incident occurred, on Friday, 22 August, between 10:30 and 11:30 pm.

A local government security source said, “On that fateful night, five policemen went out on duty. It was raining. Three of them remained at the check point in their vehicle while two of them went to eat in town.”

“Before those who went to eat came back, some gunmen had attacked and killed the three policemen in the vehicle and took away the rifle of one of them. Their corpses were evacuated to the mortuary at Toro General Hospital in Bauchi”.

Meanwhile, the state police public relations officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed told Vanguard that he was yet to get full details of the attack, with investigations on the matter expected to begin imminently.

Similarly, 35 policemen are reportedly missing from the Police training camp in Gwoza, after an attack on the facility by Boko Haram insurgents on Wednesday, 20 August.
