As the day for supplementary election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State approaches, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has alleged that intelligence reports show that the All Progressives Congress already has results of the yet-to-be conducted election.

The Acting National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, revealed this alleged plan in a statement released on Friday, January 8 in Abuja.

The PDP claims that the military, the police and Independent National Electoral Commission are complicit in this sinister plot and the actual election would be a mere formality.

The election is slated for Saturday, January 9 in the southern Ijaw LGA and some other parts of the state to supplement a previously held election that was considered inconclusive.

Governor Seriake Dickson, the candidate of the PDP is reportedly leading in the previous conducted polls with APC candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva in his trail.

According to Secondus: “Southern Ijaw is the home local government of former governor of the state, the late Chief DSP Alamiseighga and a known Ijaw leader.

“The state is politically divided into Nembe, Ogbia and Southern Ijaw, that is the home LGA of ijaws where governor Dickson hails from.

“This is the strongest home base of the PDP. PDP has been winning elections in this core Ijaw LGA because it is the ancestral home of all Ijaws where the former governor and Ijaw leader DSP Alamiseigha and Dickson hail from.

“Intelligence report at our disposal shows that the election is just a mere formality as results have been written with INEC standing as the main culprit.”

He also claimed that the Federal Government and some cabinet members had instructed INEC to write the results of the poll to favor APC.

“There is the use of Police and military personnel to intimidate voters and also scare them away as results are already written as directed,” he added.

Secondus further stated that winning this election is part of the plan of the APC to gain strong ground in the South-South, “all ministers and government officials from the zone have been directed to ensure that Bayelsa is delivered to the APC at all cost” he said.

He informed Nigerians and the international community to hold the APC responsible if democracy collapses in the country “because of the APC’s quest to turn Nigeria into a one party state.”

He capped it off saying the APC is playing the game of winning at all cost, which brought about the collapse of the second republic.
