“We stand by our list” | APC refuses to shift ground on NASS crisis

The All Progressives Congress has reacted to the rowdy sessions that took place in both the Senate and House of Representatives on Thursday, June 25.

The lawmakers became agitated over the (s)election of principal officers of the National Assembly.

While some of them insisted on respecting the list sent by the APC, which is the majority party, others maintained that both chambers must be allowed to use their own leaders, hence the agitated confrontation that ensued.

In a statement released by the APC, the show of shame was strongly condemned.

The National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, stated that: “the party stand by the list sent by the party to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.”

“The National Caucus, BOT and NEC of the party will meet within the next few days to discuss the evolving developments in the National Assembly”, the statement added.
