Meriam Ibrahim arrived the United States yesterday to a heart-warming reception.

The Sudanese woman, who delivered her daughter in prison with chains on her legs, has become a very inspirational figure to other women.

She has endured persecution in her country, after she converted to Christianity from Islam. The 27-year-old was constantly in and out of detention, before she was eventually set free.

Meriam, who escaped to Italy in July, was received by friends, family and well wishers at the Manchester-Boston regional airport in New Hampshire.
