Appaz, Fani-Kayode’s wife calls him “my lion”

by Chi Ibe

Former minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has been in what Nigerians call ‘EFCC net’ since last week, being investigated for receiving monies as part of the arms scandal now called ‘Dasukigate’.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not released him since May 9 – securing a court order on Monday to keep him for another 21 days – and so his wife, Precious Chikwendu has issued a statement in his support.

“If life was a movie I’m sure we would have our fingers on the fast forward button to skip so many scenes that ain’t just fair,” she said in a statement issued today.

“But this is reality and in reality we live through it. It’s a time when strength and courage comes in play and only the brave can afford both. My lion (Femi Fani-Kayode) will walk through this webby den of lies and injustice.

“Persecution and trials are common, only the weak fear them. He remains brave and strong through all these and soon he will be vindicated. I stand with my husband Femi Fani-Kayode.‎”

A lot of things now begin to make sense.
