A customer of a new generation bank was left confounded and helpless in Abuja when, as he was visiting the bank’s Kubwa branch, armed men accosted him.
The man was about driving into the bank with the lump sum of N4.3 million when the robbers allegedly blocked off his car while shooting sporadically into the air.
The robbers collected the money from him and made away.
One of the witnesses of the crime, Jubril Mohammed, identified the victim as an employee of a filling Station in Kubwa.
He said, “I think the victim must have been trailed by the armed robbers because the way they ambushed him as he was about entering the bank showed that they had prior information about him.
“I was standing right along the road when I saw a car stop in front of the bank; four men came out with guns and they started shooting. One of them opened the trunk of the car and removed a bag filled with money.”
