Captain Sagir Koli, officer who exposed Ekiti election rigging, reabsorbed into Nigerian Army

Captain Sagir Koli, the Nigerian Army officer who exposed the massive plans by senior army officers and official of Jonathan administration to rig the 2014 Ekiti State governorship election that saw the emergence of Ayo Fayose, has been commended for his non-partisanship and professional conduct during the election, and also reabsorbed into the cadre of the Nigerian Army.

This was made know in a statement signed by the Army Acting Director of Public Relationship, Colonel Sani Usman,

Captain Sagir Koli fled the country after making public an audio tape implicating some of his superiors and members of the People’s Democratic Party stage-managing the Ekiti State election.

In the tapes, former Minister of Defense, Musliu Obanikoro, was heard conniving with Brig. Gen. Aliyu Momoh, Jelili Adesiyan, Ayo Fayose, Andy Uba and Iyiola Omisore.

The statement also contained other recommendations made by a panel of inquiry set up to investigate allegations of professional misconduct Ekiti State election rigging.
