According to reports, former militant and Niger Delta activist, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has been arrested.

Dokubo was arrested by gendarmes (security officers) in Benin Republic this evening.

News of the arrest was disclosed by Alhaji Dokubo’s lawyer, Festus Keyamo.

Premium Times reports:

Mr. Keyamo said in a statement that the Rivers born former armed fighter was on Tuesday “arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, around the hours of 1:00pm and 2:00pmby the country’s gendarmes (Police Force).”
