It’s official! James Faleke will not go down without a fight

James Faleke, the running-mate to the late Abubakar Audu, has filed a petition at the Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

Faleke is fighting to be declared governor-elect of the November 21 governorship poll in Kogi, in spite of it being declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the death of Prince Audu.

At about 12:20 pm on Monday, Faleke accompanied by Mohammed Audu, son of late Audu, and lawyers, submitted the petition to the clerk of the tribunal in Lokoja.

Party members and supporters, numbering hundreds, escorted them to the state High Court premises, where the tribunal is situated.

Faleke is contesting INEC’s decision to declare the election inconclusive, and seeking to have himself governor-elect.

Although he did not add his party, the All Progressives Congress as respondents in the suit, Faleke is not happy with the decision to pick Kogi governor-elect, Yahaya Bello as Audu’s replacement.
