Rampaging militant group, Niger Delta Avengers have announced the blowing up of a gas pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Nsit-Ibom L.G.A, Akwa Ibom state.
According to the spokesperson of the group, Mudoch Agbinibo, the pipeline was damaged by the Avengers at 11:30pm on Sunday.
The group enjoined NNPC to “check their pipeline if it’s ‘system Anomaly'”.
According to the NNPC, Nigeria has recorded 1,447 pipeline attacks in 2016 alone while billions of naira has been lost to the activities of the vandals.
The Niger Delta Avengers have claimed responsibility for a number of these pipeline destruction.
