twins holding hands

It’s always been known that twins share a special bond with each other while in the womb and even when they’re born.

Stories abound of twins who have had incredible experiences with each other but this one just takes the cake.

A woman in the American state of Ohio has given birth to a rare set of identical twins girls and they were born holding hands.

The girls, Jenna and Jillian, were born to Sarah Thistlethwaite, a teacher, and they shared an amniotic sac in their mother’s womb.

This kind of twin birth occurs in one out of 10,000 pregnancies and is known as “Monoamniotic” or “mono mono”.

The mother, who had to be placed on bed rest for 2 months before the birth, has described the birth of her daughters as a miracle and the “best Mother’s Day present ever.
