After Brazilian mourners called police they arrived at the cemetery to find a man in a half-open grave.

A Brazilian mourner laying flowers in a cemetery was shocked to see a body emerging alive from a nearby grave.

The petrified woman turned around after hearing faint noises — and saw what appeared to be a corpse sitting up and waving its arms around.

Terrified, she ran away to call the cops — who at first thought she was playing a practical joke.

But they soon arrived to find the man half buried in a plot of earth.

Dug out of the ground, he was taken to a local hospital in Ferraz de Vasconcelos where sources said he was “coming back to life.”

Footage of the dramatic rescue, believed to have taken place last week, was shown on R7 Noticias.

It’s unclear whether the man, identified as a former city hall worker, was buried after mistakenly being presumed dead or if he was the victim of a horrific crime.

Cops think he was badly beaten in a fight and was dumped, unconscious, into an empty grave.
