Bad news for United: Vidal tells friends he wants Juventus stay

by Mark Bassey

Arturo Vidal is now likely to stay at Juventus, after reportedly telling friends it is too late to move.

Manchester United have been linked with the Chilean midfielder all summer and earlier this week, reports claimed they were trying to seal a transfer before Monday’s deadline.

However, it is understood that the Old Trafford outfit are not confident about Vidal’s fitness and are offering him a pay-as-you-play deal. Vidal had surgery on his knee earlier this year and has not completed a game for the Serie A champions since March.

The Daily Express is reporting that the player has told friends: “At this point I do not [want to] go away, I stay at Juventus.”

Another sticking point in the deal, is Juventus’ reluctance to lower the  €43m fee they are demanding for Vidal.
