Boko Haram chief recruiter arrested in Chad

A mastermind of Boko Haram operations in Chad and northern Cameroon, Bana Fanaye also known as Mahamat Moustapha, has been arrested by authorities in Chad.

During his arrest, series of sophisticated weapons and over 50 cell phone SIM cards for various countries, including Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger were recovered from his residence.

Mahamat Moustapha, who is known as a Boko Haram recruiter, was arrested on Friday, July 31.

Bana Fanaye is said to be the brain behind most of Boko Harm’s operations in Chad and northern Cameroon.

Chadian officials disclosed that Fanaye is behind Boko Haram’s arms purchase, recruiting of insurgents and planning of terrorism targets and operations in Chad and northern Cameroon.
