Last Saturday, KaraokePulse 2.0 gathered ladies and gentlemen from diverse backgrounds in the Battle of the Sexes which took place at Swe Bar, Onikan, Lagos. It featured karaoke performances from teams named after popular international music artistes in Rock, R&B and Old School. The teams’ efforts were judged by celebrities such as the charming DJ Caise of Chocolate City, contagious Capital F.E.M.I, soul singer Evaezi and on-air personality Dami Elebe from the Beat 99.9FM.

The ‘battle’ was fierce, as performances were judged based on voice quality, entertainment value and team unity. Team Rihanna emerged the overall winner with a superior performance of ‘Gangam Style’ that brought the house down and Team Usher were the last male team standing! Winners and runners-up received awesome gifts such as custom-made PUSH shoes, couture Asake-Oge gowns, outfits from Teaze Couture and statement t-shirts from Bandit Urban designs. The best dressed male and female went away with a bunny and pocket square, respectively, from Maryanne Alabi.

Freestyle performances by shower-stars among the warm, interactive audience were rewarded with Breeze 36Urban t-shirts and tank tops, as well as goody bags from Beauty Overdose Magazine. Even the judges thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they battled (DJ Caise and Capital F.E.M.I vs. Dami and Evaezi) and were rewarded with leather iPad cases from TT Dalk and Teaze Couture outfits.

The fun-filled event was graced with other special appearances by Yemi Alade, Olatubosun Adu of Bozza, Bosah Chibuzor Felix of PUSH Xclusive, Temilade Osinfade of T.T. DALK and on-air personalities such as Phoenix from Rhythm 93.7FM, JLuv, Vien and Sensei Uche of City 105.1FM and Seun P from Nigeria Info 99.3FM as well as a huge, lively crowd, irrespective of the football weekend.

This second edition of KaraokePulse was powered by Dynamite Inc., Swe Bar & Lounge, Bold Entertainment, Bozza (a mobile app that connects artists, filmmakers and poets with fans) and supported by products from PUSH Xclusive, AsakeOge Couture, TT Dalk, Teaze Couture, Breeze 36Urban, Bandit Urban Clothing, Maryanne Alabi and Beauty Overdose Magazine, with media partners including City 105.1FM, YNaija.com, 360Nobs.com, OloriSupergal.com and 9jaticketmaster.com.
