“Be ready for a surprise in 2015” – ACN talks tough, as usual

by Adeniyi Abdul

Opposition party Action Congress  of Nigeria has once again promised nothing less than victory at the 2015 Presidential polls.  National treasurer of the party, Chief Kenneth Kobani in a recent statement pointed to the recent victory of the party in Edo state as a sign of it’s popularity, and warned other parties to be ready for a surprise.

“Apart from Lagos State, other ACN states do not receive as high as what most PDP states get as monthly allocations,” Kobani said in a phone interview with Punch. “But with the performance, it is obvious that the ACN has been more prudent than the PDP.”

“Nigerians are aware of all these. Any political party that thinks that the people are not watching should be ready for a surprise in 2015.”

He also talked about the influence of godfathers saying: “Take a look at the crop of most members of the National Assembly and you will see that most of them are not supposed to be there.”

“But because their godfathers have fixed them there, it has been one scandal after the other,” he continued. “The Edo governorship election is a pointer to the fact that power belong to the people and not any godfather. This message and mindset is what Nigerians will take to the elections in 2015.”
