Barely 3 days after the Governor of Benue, Gabriel Suswam, escaped an attack by Fulani mercenaries by the whiskers, his hometown has been ransacked by the mercenaries.

The governor’s village at Anyii in the Logo Local Government Area of the state was invaded by the marauders who are said to have killed over 22 people and left destruction in their wake.

Governor Suswam, who went on a tour of the destroyed communities with a team of police officers led by the state Police Commissioner, Adams Audu, is said to have been overwhelmed at the sight of his village in ruins.

The rampage of Fulani herdsmen and mercenaries on the state has been raging with about 29 villages levelled in the latest attack.

The governor’s convoy was attacked by suspected Fulani mercenaries when he embarked on a previous tour of ransacked villages.
