Former heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Tyson has come to the defence of Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan striker was booted out of the world cup due to his bite on Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini.

Suarez was suspended from the tournament and subsequently handed a four-month worldwide ban by Fifa as punishment for his barbaric and unsporting act.

Tyson, who is infamous for chewing a part of the ear of Evander Holyfield during a title bout says he understands what may have prompted the striker to keep biting other players on the football pitch.

During a Q&A session on Reddit, Tyson said, “Suarez’s bite? I understand it, it was a blackout moment which can happen at times. It was just one moment in which the competition can make the blood in your veins boil and it overpowers your rationality.”

He concluded his defense of the Liverpool FC forward saying that at such moments, “sometimes you become something that you are not”.

Well, we didn’t expect Tyson to slam Suarez for following in his ‘teethmarks’, did we? Definitely not.
