An American man from the state of Ohio was ordered held on $750,000 bond on Monday after he confessed that he shot and killed his wife of 34years when she refused to get out of the car to buy a car with him.
The man, Thomas Edwards, told police that he shot his wife Teresa in the head four times Sunday because she would not get out of bed and accompany him to the car dealer.
He said “there was a chance” he would not have shot his wife if “when she saw the gun, she immediately got out of the bed and started getting ready,” a police report said.
After the shooting, Edwards called his sister and told her that he’d killed his wife. He faces a charge of aggravated murder.
Edwards was previously arrested in 2001 and 2005 for domestic violence incidents. In 2001, police said he threatened his wife with a gun while drunk.
