Football season is right around the corner and this year, the NFL is really marketing its apparel toward female fans. While we don’t expect that women will be running out to buy football uniforms, the league is doing a very good job of creating attractive attire for women to wear in support of their Sunday favorites.
It’s not the first time they’ve offered NFL gear for women, but they’ve never done it with so much star power. In a new campaign, the NFL is promoting women’s football apparel with the help of Serena Williams, Melania Trump and Condoleezza Rice.
The ads will feature the women in fitted blazers, burn-out tees and other figure flattering apparel. The campaign is called “It’s My Team.”
And that slogan is particularly true for Serena Williams. She is a limited partner in the Miami Dolphins. In her ad she wears a Dolphins graphic tee with a black Nike jacket.
According to the vice president of NFL consumer products, Tracey Bleczinski, 45 percent of all NFL fans are women, so it only makes sense that the NFL beef up their offerings and their marketing to female fans.
“We do have something for everyone, and this campaign aims to communicate that if you are living and wearing football, you can do it every day, year-round,” she said.
