Boko Haram offers Chibok girls in exchange for captured leaders

Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly offered to free the Chibok girls kidnapped in April 2014, in exchange for the release of militant leaders held by the government.

Washington Post reports that a human rights activist revealed this to The Associated Press.

The activist was quoted to have said that Boko Haram’s offer is limited to the more than 200 girls taken from Government College, Chibok.

The anonymous activist was reportedly involved in negotiations with Boko Haram last year and is close to current negotiators.
