Boko Haram gunmen attack motorists in Borno, set vehicles ablaze

Some gunmen believed to be members of the terrorist group , Boko Haram were said to have ambushed motorists along the Maiduguri-Damboa- Biu road on Monday morning.

The suspected gunmen were said to have attacked and burnt down two trucks loaded with oranges and a Toyota Hilux vehicle, abducting the drivers to an unknown destination.

The incident occurred barely 24 hours after some gunmen also belived to be terrorists ambushed motorists in Borno villages of Gwoza- Firgi- Ngurosoya federal highway, which led to the death of five passengers including one person on his way to Maiduguri to attend his brother’s wedding.

Our Correspondent gathered that the incident took place few kilometres away from limanti/ Bullabulin Ngarwa communities where series of deadly road attacks masterminded by Boko Haram sects took place in recent times.

Speaking to our Correspondent, a motorist/driver who escaped the attack, Mallam Musa Usman told our Correspondent in an interview that the incident occurred at about 9am on Monday, when some group of terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram in the process of crossing over the highway from their camps in Sambisa Game Forests met with some motorists on the road, barricading them, set all the three vehicles including a truck loaded with orange from Benue state ablaze.
